The Contactum UK Enclosed Disconnect Switch (DS Series) supplied by Green Home is a high-quality British electrical isolation solution designed for the safe disconnection and isolation of three-phase electrical circuits in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure applications within the Saudi market.
This product is widely known as a Disconnect Switch, Isolator Switch, or Switch Disconnector. It features a Non-Fused design, meaning it performs the isolation function only and does not contain internal fuse-links. Protection against overload and short-circuit conditions must therefore be provided by upstream protective devices such as MCBs or MCCBs, which aligns with common Saudi electrical design practice.
The switch is housed in a heavy-duty galvanised steel enclosure, powder-coated to RAL 7032, and fitted with an injected polyurethane gasket to ensure excellent environmental sealing. The enclosure design incorporates a hinged door, removable hinges (for selected sizes), earthing studs on both the door and enclosure, and a bottom-mounted gland plate for safe and flexible cable entry.
Designed to withstand demanding environments, the enclosure concept is tested in accordance with IEC 60529 and IEC 62208, offering high ingress and mechanical protection. The disconnect switch complies with BS EN 60947-3, ensuring reliable load break and isolation performance.
